Time really flies. It has been a whole year since I saw this cutie pie and it was so fun to see him again. His momma and grandma were there with us again and we all looked pretty much the same except for little Michael. Look how he’s grown! And now that he’s walking it was crazy trying to keep up with him! Must be what it’s like to have a boy….I wouldn’t know

I had just moved into a new home, school had just begun and I was drowning in an unusually large workload leaving me very little time to shoot but this new young mom was certainly persistent in having me photograph her first born. I always love the persistent ones. Reminds me of myself.

This young family showed up to the shoot in 2 cars, mom, dad, baby, baby nurse, mother-in-law and the family dog! It was quite the entourage

This shoot was such a breeze and so much fun! Baby Ava followed my lead and had this one in the bag for Mom and Dad. 3 outfit changes, 4 different set ups and not one peep out of her. I found myself having to stop short of saying “Ava Turetsky” when calling her name though…

I was very fortunate to be able to host Beth Jansen once again for another workshop right here in the M.I.A and this time with the added bonus of having Jael De Young here as well! I love playing hostess to a bunch of eager to learn, uber talented, fun and totally crazy photographers who are all just as passionate and crazy about this stuff as I am. It was an absolute blast!

I really enjoyed this session for many reasons but mostly because this gorgeous baby’s mamma was a high school classmate of mine and you know me – I love getting all nostalgic =) Creating keepsakes is what ultimately spawned this love for photography and essentially THAT is what it’s all about for me. So while we were busy creating these beautiful portraits as keepsakes to cherish for years to come we also got to reminisce at the same time of the years that passed. Now that’s what I call a “twofer” (as in 2 for 1!)

I arrived a bit early for this shoot since I had never been to the area and wanted to scope out the good shooting spots. I found them instantly and then had some time to kill while I waited for the family to get ready which as it turned out, was a mini vacation for me. I propped myself onto a hammock hanging in between two palm trees and fell asleep in the hot sun with a cool breeze on a Wednesday afternoon nonetheless while all 3 of my kids were home driving my nanny absolutely mad! Kind of felt a little guilty but then threw myself into the moment and just LIVED! I was super relaxed once the session got started!

Natalie and Michael, you guys were simply great and baby Michael is too cute for words! IEnjoy him!

Our Play Date with Mia

Ava and Ella had play dates this afternoon with friends so Matthew and I decided to spend some quality time with our baby Mia. It was really great quality bonding time that, as baby number 3, she just never really gets. So we jumped on the opportunity. One of the beauties of going out with JUST ONE kid in tow is being able to lug my big camera with me which I never usually do. One of my new year’s resolutions though is to get in the habit of bringing it along more often when I’m out with my kids. But honestly, it’s almost like bringing a 4th child along with the amount of worrying I do over it!

So for our afternoon we started with a walk to enjoy our glorious weather (don’t mean to rub it in). Then we headed over to the park where it turned out there was a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party going on for a little 2 year old girl! We totally crashed that party. And after all the running around we all needed a little up lift so we went for a short drive over to Jamba Juice and Mia really LOVED that! All in all we had such a great time…so good I’m thinking we’re going to do it again real soon
